Red Light Cameras

In my county, the red light cameras only take a picture from the tail. So it may not be necessary to drive all of the time with your visor down.

In my county, the red light cameras operate 24 hours a day. It is illegal to modify your license plate then intentionally drive through that intersection to make a statement.

In my county, you can sign an affidavit stating that you were not driving. This can be useful when you fall asleep at a party and someone takes your car keys.

Ignorance of the law is no excuse. Educate yourself and protect yourself.

HOV / HIV Lane in Atlanta, Ga

What a joke. Lets take the slowest cars on the road (4 cylinders / hybrids / buses) and have them cross all lanes of traffic twice during rush hour. Common sense would tell you traffic jams are caused by everyone slowing down. Ever notice what happens after the HOV lane ends? Not exactly safe.

Joke 2. The message signs usually state, "The HOV lane saves 2 min." Two minutes, it takes longer than that to pick up your carpool buddy. So there is no real time savings. On some occassions, it states longer time than two minutes. Well if I am going to work, it doesn't matter when I get there. If I am going home I am pretty good at being in the right lanes to negate any gain by HOV drivers.

Final joke. Cops that enforce the use of the lane. It is a moneymaker for law enforcement. There is no safety issue when a single person drives in that lane. If anything you are helping the law abiding citizens, since there is one less car in the HOV lane. By the way, I have not received a ticket for driving in that lane since I do not do it. Instead I turn up my radio, read my email, and ponder my next move.
